'Is this the congratulations I get?': Boss Demands Female Employee Return to Work Two Days After Having a Baby, She Refuses, They Fire Her in Response

It (usually) takes two people to have a baby, but only one of those people has to carry the baby inside their bodies for 9 months and then proceed to painfully give birth to it. But still, people think it is appropriate to punish women for having babies in the most absurd of ways. How is it that specifically in the workplace, women are being treated like they are worth less, simply because they have a more important role in the creation of the family? Every single one of us came from a woman, and yet here we are…

The woman in this Reddit story informed her workplace about her pregnancy as soon as she could, so they could find a replacement for her at least a while after giving birth. Yet her boss did nothing to find someone else, and demanded she return to work immediately after having the baby.
